Mr. Huennekens is a founding member and partner of HQT Homes, a real estate development company, developer of master planned communities and the builder and seller of homes in the Southern California area.
Prior to forming HQT Homes, Mr. Huennekens served as president of The Lusk Company. Lusk was a residential and retail commercial development company. Mr. Huennekens was instrumental in Lusk's expansion into diversified real estate activities, including the construction and lease of office buildings and the planning and sale of industrial parks as well as the building and management of apartment complexes. He positioned the company into a leader in the real estate industry.
Mr. Huennekens was a member of the Housing Roundtable and the Housing Council of the Urban Land Institute, and is a trustee of the former Mead Housing Trust. Each organization is committed to increasing the available amount of affordable housing.
He has been an active member of numerous business and professional organizations, including the Federal National Mortgage Association's advisory board and the Financial Executives Institute. He is a director of Bixby Ranch Company, a family-owned real estate and development company.
Mr. Huennekens was first elected a director of Southwest Water Company in 1969. |
