Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron, Doug was a partner, overseeing Business Development for the Southeast Region at Callaway Partners, now a Huron Consulting Group Practice.
Previously, he managed relationships with strategic non-attest clients at Deloitte & Touche. In this role, he led cross-functional teams of professionals in the areas of tax, internal audit, information technology, human resources, strategic and operational consulting, valuation, and risk. Doug led these teams to focus on industry and client specific issues and work with client executives to develop cross-functional solutions. His ability to address these client issues across business areas delivers services with maximum benefit in a cost and time efficient manner.
Before that, Doug was with Arthur Andersen's Atlanta office where he started as a tax professional. He assisted clients with structuring transactions to minimize State and Local taxes. He was also responsible for the development of the Value-Added Tax practice for the Southeast Region. After the development of the VAT practice, Doug took a role as a Business Developer, tasked with growing Arthur Andersen's southeastern market share in the areas of attest, tax, internal audit and risk, human capital and business consulting.
In addition, Doug worked with General Electric where he was an internal tax consultant to the Medical Systems, Electrical Distribution & Supply, and Aerospace business units. In this role he had responsibility for tax compliance and planning, tax accounting, transactional structuring, and audit defense and negotiation.
