Doug Carter currently serves as president and broker of Don Carter Realty. A cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University in North Carolina, Doug is a native of Gainesville and Northeast Georgia. Doug and his wife, Sandy, also a Wake Forest graduate, have two children. Doug is one of the region's leading real estate brokers, consistently ranking at the top level of area real estate sales as a Million Dollar Sales Award winner year after year. He was a 2001 Phoenix Award recipient. Doug serves as Vice-Chairman of the Gainesville/Hall County Industrial Authority and he was a seven year member of the City of Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board. Doug's community service extends from Gainesville to the state level. Georgia Trend magazine identified him in its annual list of "40 under 40" as one of the state's emerging leaders. Doug is the current Vice-Chairman of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Board. He is a Rotarian and is a past Chairman of the North Georgia Community Foundation, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, and Leadership Hall County. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Gainesville Bank & Trust, Main Street Gainesville,and the Economic Development Council. He is a trustee of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center. Doug has served as President and Chairman of Leadership Georgia. He is a former Vice-Chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce serving as a Vice-Chair of economic development, marketing, and membership. |
