In addition to his role as Imagination co-founder, in 1994 Doug alone was the company's entire design department. Now he supervises a staff of award-winning designers and oversees the art direction of Imagination's print and online publications. His design expertise also is showcased in many magazine launches and redesigns.
After earning his bachelor's degree in graphic design from Iowa State University in 1986, Doug launched his career as a designer at Hartmarx. He moved on to a position as Art Director for Inland Architect magazine, and four years later he became Art Director for MacMillan Publishing in Chicago. It was at MacMillan Publishing that Doug met Jim Meyers, who in 1994 invited him to become a founding partner of Imagination.
Doug has won more than 50 professional design awards from Print Magazine, the American Society of Business Publication Editors, Apex, Ozzie, and Communicator award competitions. He also contributes his time to Ronald McDonald House Charities. |
