Past Senior Vice President and Administrator of the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Doug was NRH's chief operating officer for ten years, overseeing the opening of the facility and was responsible for all operational components of the hospital network and coordination with MedStar Health, its parent company.
While at NRH, Doug led the development and management of a network of thirty-seven satellite ambulatory care facilities, as well as numerous programmatic enhancements to the hospital's service line including alternative delivery systems such as comprehensive day care programs.
Doug's more than thirty years of experience in health care also includes administrative roles at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Doug is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, was ACHE's Governor-at-Large, and has served on a number of boards and committees of the American Hospital Association.
Doug has also served on the boards of the District of Columbia Hospital Association, the Medical Rehabilitation Education Foundation, the Rehabilitation Research and Education Foundation, and currently is Treasurer of the National Family Caregivers Association. |
