Doug also advises emerging market companies on Euro-securities offerings and US equity offerings.
Doug has earned wide recognition for his work in emerging markets since joining the firm in 1988. Chambers USA (2007) calls him "'a simply great attorney' who wins praise for his emerging markets expertise. There can be few lawyers who have the depth of experience that he can boast in South and Central America." Earlier editions of Chambers USA have used phrases like "weighty" and "substantial emerging markets expertise" (2006) and "a key figure in the market for cross-border transactions" (2004-2005) in describing his practice. Chambers Global (2006) notes that "...his experience of emerging market financings make him 'a force to be reckoned with,'" adding that he "has succeeded in carving out a strong name in the region."
