Douglas A. Peterson is a Vice President in the Chicago office of Duff & Phelps, LLC. Mr. Peterson is a financial analyst responsible for the fundamental analysis and valuation of private companies and intangible assets. These services are relied upon in mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, reorganizations, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), tax planning and compliance, financial reporting including purchase price allocations and impairment of goodwill, and strategic planning. He has experience in the valuation of intangible assets including customer lists, patents and proprietary technology, trade names, and noncompete covenants, among others.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Mr. Peterson was a senior consultant with the valuation services practice of KPMG LLP. In addition, Mr. Peterson was a financial analyst with The Coca-Cola Company. Mr. Peterson is a graduate of Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English; he has also earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Strategy from Emory University's Roberto C. Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago and the Business Valuation Association.
