Mr. Yearley graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering and attended the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
He joined Phelps Dodge in 1960 in project development. Mr. Yearley held several key positions before being elected Executive Vice President and a Director in 1987, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1989 and President in 1991. He retired in May 2000.
He is a Director of United States Steel Corporation, Lockheed Martin Corporation and Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. |
