Douglas H. Gilbert is a managing director of MCG Capital Corporation (Nasdaq: MCGC), a one-stop capital firm. He is a key member of MCG's origination team.
Doug joined MCG in 2006, bringing over 12 years of private equity investing experience with Winston Partners, Thayer Capital Partners, and Boston Ventures Management, and four years of merger and acquisition experience with Lehman Brothers and The Bridgeford Group. Most recently, Doug was a Managing Director at Winston Partners, where he was responsible for all aspects of investing in lower middle market companies for the private equity practice with $150 million of equity capital. He was the leader of an investment team which sourced, negotiated, structured, and executed value-based buyouts of niche manufacturing and business services companies.
Previously, Doug was a Managing Director at Thayer Capital, a $1.3 billion private equity firm focused on leveraged buyout and growth equity investments. There he focused on investments in information technology, marketing, and business services companies. Prior to Thayer, he worked at Boston Ventures Management, focused on media and communications investments. Doug has served as a board member on numerous portfolio companies and two as Chairman.
Doug holds a B.A. in Political Economy from Williams College and received a Masters of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. |
