J. Douglas Keauhou Ing is a senior partner and member of the Executive Committee of Watanabe, Ing & Kawashima, one of Hawaii�s leading law firms, serving corporate and individual clients in Hawai'i, throughout the continental U.S., and in Asia.
Beginning his career with the firm in 1976 as an associate, Ing became a partner in January 1981 with an active practice in land use and development, public utilities and commercial litigation. Today, Ing�s practice emphasizes regulatory law and litigation.
He has held a Martindale-Hubbell rating of "av" since July 1990, the highest legal ability rating designated by Martindale-Hubbell, a national legal directory of attorneys.
A 1962 graduate of the Kamehameha School for Boys (Valedictorian), Ing received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (Dean�s List) from the University of Washington in 1966. In 1974, he received his juris doctor from the University of Denver.
Between 1966 and 1971, Ing served in the U.S. Navy. Qualified to operate nuclear powered submarines, he served aboard the USS Tautog and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal in 1969 before his honorable discharge with the rank of Lieutenant.
Besides numerous professional memberships, Ing has served on the boards of the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, Land and Natural Resources, Sex Abuse Treatment Center, Parents and Children Together, and Commission on Water Resource Management. He has served on the Board of N� Pua O Pauahi Foundation since 1993 and is a life member of the Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association. |
