Mr. Hammer is one of the senior partners of the Firm in the area of business counseling. He concentrates on counseling businesses with regard to entity selection and organization; equity, debt and other financings; mergers and acquisitions; contracts; investment adviser regulation and compliance; and organization and operation of offshore funds, private domestic hedge funds and other pooled investment entities.
Mr. Hammer�s clients range from sole proprietorships and start-up companies to large public companies in a variety of industries and businesses.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Hammer is a member of the Business Law Section of the California State Bar and the Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association. He was also a member of the Advisory Council of the Entrepreneurs� Forum of the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Haas School of Business of the University of California, Berkeley, from 1994 to 2001.
EDUCATION
Mr. Hammer received an A.B. degree from Harvard University in 1966 and a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley in 1974. At Boalt Hall, Mr. Hammer was an Associate Editor of the California Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif.
