Doug serves as managing partner of the firm�s Columbus office. He has over 20 years of experience representing companies in matters of general corporate law, corporate finance, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. He provides his clients with additional knowledge and experience in the areas of banking, real estate and venture capital. Doug counsels public and private companies on a range of business and legal concerns, including entity structuring, reorganizations and corporate governance. He has managed successfully transactions involving commercial finance, venture capital and mezzanine funds, as well as complex real estate and development projects. He has also worked with several successful start-up companies, including those in the technology and banking areas. Doug is a member of the American, Ohio and Columbus Bar Associations. He is a board member of TechColumbus, the Children�s Hospital Foundation and City Year - Columbus. He is also the former chairman of the board of trustees for the Franklin Park Conservatory and was formerly a member of the City of Columbus Civil Service Commission. He has been listed as one of America's Leading Lawyers, was named in Super Lawyers magazine as an Ohio Super Lawyer and was named by Business First as one of the Best Lawyers in Columbus. Doug was an associate with the Wall Street law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett from 1982 to 1990 before leaving to start his own law firm, Shuler, Plank, Morgan & Brahm LPA. Doug began his tenure with Calfee as a partner in 2001. He became managing partner of the Columbus office and a member of the firm�s executive committee in 2003. |
