Douglas Beeforth is responsible for the operation of the regional sports television service Rogers Sportsnet, broadcasting to four areas of Canada: Sportsnet East (Quebec & Maritimes), Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nunavut & the Northwest Territories) and Sportsnet Pacific (British Columbia & Yukon).
As part of his more than 25 years in sports broadcasting in Canada and the United States, Doug has spent the past decade as a senior executive with CTV and Sportsnet. Previously, his area of expertise was production, including Hockey Night in Canada and various Olympics, where he created the "Hockey Net-Cam".
He received an Emmy award for outstanding U.S. network sports production and two Gemini Awards for excellence in sports production in Canada.
Doug was named president of Sportsnet in 2002. He is a graduate of Ryerson University's Radio & Television Arts programme.
