Drayton Hastie represents business and individual clients in litigation before state and federal trial courts throughout South Carolina.
Mr. Hastie has experience handling matters in the areas of commercial litigation, business torts, nursing home litigation, construction litigation, products liability, toxic torts and general tort litigation.
Mr. Hastie's experience includes:
Representing individual and business entities in commercial and contractual disputes
Litigating and defending misrepresentation, fraud and related tort actions arising out of business relationships and transactions
Defending product manufacturers, designers, marketers, suppliers, etc. in property damage, personal injury, wrongful death and survival actions as well as warranty claims
Defending business and commercial entities against personal injury, wrongful death and property damage claims
Defending nursing homes, assisted living facilities and any applicable parent, management company and/or holding companies in personal injury, wrongful death and survival actions
Defending and representing construction companies, developers, design professionals and bonding entities
Defending against the certification of and prosecution of class action litigation
Assisting clients with regulatory and environmental liability assessment
While at the University of South Carolina, Mr. Hastie was a research editor of the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal.
