Drayton Saunders, native to Florida, was born and raised in Sarasota. He attended high school at The Bush School in Seattle, Washington. From 1991-1995 Drayton attended Colgate University in New York where he majored in philosophy, minored in economics and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. While at Colgate, Drayton developed a passion for Latin America. His altruistic nature lead Drayton to participate with Amigos de las Americas a non-denominational, non-profit group that focuses on basic problems in poor rural communities in Latin America. Projects include building homes for teachers in Costa Rica and working in conjunction with CARE International to improve basic sanitation, health and hygiene practices in highland Ecuador. After college and prior to joining Michael Saunders & Company, he spent 8 years in Santiago, Chile conceptualizing and then opening New York Bagel Bakery - Chile's first bagel coffee shop. After selling his business in 2003, Drayton returned to Sarasota and assumed the position of President of MSC Title and MSC Mortgage. A founding member of the Young Professionals Group in Sarasota, Drayton is working with this dynamic group to attract and include young professionals in Sarasota�s future direction and growth. Drayton is also a board member of the Downtown Partnership and was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. |
