Drew Hanser, co-founder of Kyma, has been with the company for more than five years and has extensive experience in bulk and epitaxial crystal growth of GaN-based materials, including development of Kyma's bulk GaN crystal growth processes and MOVPE growth of III-V nitrides at North Carolina State University with Prof. Bob Davis. While at Kyma, he has worked as Senior GaN Engineer and Director of Business Development, then as Director of Research and Development and now as Chief Technical Officer. He has been Principal Investigator on a number of successfully funded Phase I and II SBIRs in GaN materials development and applications of GaN substrates for optoelectronic and microelectronic devices. His current efforts focus on transitioning Kyma's GaN substrate efforts from development to manufacturing. Hanser obtained a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University's Department of Materials Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in Ceramic Engineering. He has over 20 publications and is co-inventor on two patents. |
