Duane Wood
District I
President of GW Communications, and Vice President of GW Telecommunications, GW Properties, and Sioux Valley Telephone Co. SDATC Board Member. Duane Wood has been on the Golden West Board of Directors since September of 1984 and currently serves as vice president of Golden West Telecommunications Cooperative, Golden West Telephone Properties and Golden West Communications. He is also vice president of the South Dakota Association of Telephone Cooperatives (SDATC). Duane and his wife JoAnn live on the family ranch located 22 miles west of Faith. Duane attended Black Hills State College before completing a two-year Ranch Management course at Western Dakota Vo-Tech Institute at Sturgis. He is an agent for the Harding and Perkins Farm Mutual Insurance Co. and 1st Auto and Casualty. Duane is a member and deacon of the Opal Community Church. The Woods have three daughters; Shawna, a senior at SDSU; Shannon, a Sophomore at BHSU and Trinity, a junior at Faith High School.
