Dudu Ratshefola holds a National Diploma in Public Administration, a Honours Business Economics from the University of South Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Development Management from Wits. She started her career in 1986 as a Credit Controller for various institutions including local government. In her tenure with local government she developed an interest in development planning and was appointed a socio-economic development practitioner in 1997 by the erstwhile Eastern Gauteng Services Council, where she was responsible for local economic development and implemented a number of community tourism and agricultural projects at the Midvaal Local Municipality, thereafter at the West Rand District Municipality. During her tenure at West Rand she initiated several public partnership projects and was instrumental in the establishment of the West Rand Development Agency. She participated in the Japan International Co-operation Agency Seminar on Regional Development Administration for the Republic Of South Africa In Hokkaido
In 2005 she joined Econo-Mine as socio-economic development professional and her responsibilities included general management, policy analysis, alignment of Corporate Social Investment initiatives to sector charters and national imperatives, with specific focus in the mining industry and gained extensive experience in the compilation of Social and Labour Plans for the mineral industry. Dudu joined the Burnstone management team in March 2007. |
