Mr. Messer is a partner in the Cincinnati office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where he concentrates his practice in general commercial litigation with an emphasis in construction, real estate and insurance. Regarding construction, he has assisted clients in resolving many disputes involving owners, contractors, insurance carriers and sureties, including bid disputes and delay claims. He is the chair of the firm's Construction Law Practice. Regarding real estate, he has assisted clients in resolving numerous disputes from claims on warranty deeds to easement disputes to commercial landlord/tenant problems. Regarding insurance, he has assisted clients with construction related insurance claims and has represented insurance companies in consumer class actions. Mr. Messer has guided clients through all manner of dispute resolution, including traditional litigation, mediation and arbitration. Mr. Messer received his B.S. degree, summa cum laude, from United Wesleyan College in 1977, his M.A. degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1984, and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1991. He is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, in the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio, in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and in the United States Court of International Trade. Mr. Messer is a member of Class V of the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL) for 2001. |
