Eckhard H. Kuesters is a registered patent attorney and former design engineer, now a senior partner in the firm's Electrical/ Mechanical Practice Group. His background includes eight years of electrical engineering design and development experience in the field of communications engineering and radar signal processing. His practice includes client counseling, all phases of patent prosecution including appeals and inter partes interference proceedings, patent infringement and validity opinion preparation, and litigation support in a wide range of technologies including semiconductor devices and methods of manufacture, electronics, computers, medical equipment and computer aided diagnosis of medical images, on behalf of a diverse mix of domestic and foreign clients. He has actively participated in licensing negotiations, preparing licenses, and providing license counseling.
Mr. Kuesters received his Law degree from the University of Maryland in 1977 and received his Electrical Engineering degree from Rutgers University in 1968. Mr. Kuesters is admitted to the Maryland and Virginia Bars, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has memberships in the ABA, the AIPLA, the AIPPA, the Maryland Patent Law Association (former President), the LES and AUTM, and currently serves on the advisory board of BNA's United States Patent Quarterly and the EPO Liaison Council. |
