Mr. Burke has been the Chief Financial Officer since inception. In this role, Ed is a key participant in determining the business strategy of BTM Corporation, and is also responsible for managing and setting all aspects of the company's financial and administrative direction within key functional areas, including finance, human resources, legal, and investor relations.
Mr. Burke has over 25 years of corporate finance experience including strategic financial management, treasury, private equity, M&A, buyouts, financial operations and investor relation activities.
He gained his first 18 years of insight and experience in finance through a number of G2000 manufacturing, consumer products and financial services companies. He held various financial management positions of increasing responsibility at Emerson Electric, Chesebrough-Ponds Inc. and John Hancock Life Insurance Co. At both Emerson Electric and Chesebrough-Ponds, Mr. Burke did extensive acquisition and buyout analysis along with target company recommendations, ranging from $10M - $200M in revenues, in order to accelerate new product development, enable market penetration, develop product line extensions, increase market share and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
At Emerson Electric, he was a member of the post-acquisition synergy committee for a Chinese manufacturing joint venture, achieving a 20% annual increase in profitability in the combined international operations within 15 months. On the buyout and acquisition side, responsibilities involved eliminating redundant processes, streamlining operations and implementing extensive financial reporting for effective operational measurement. He was instrumental in leading business process re-engineering initiatives, which achieved over a 40% efficiency improvement in acquired operations.
Over the last 8 years, he has assisted in raising over $50M in private equity and venture capital funding. At BTM Corporation, Mr. Burke leads all financial and administrative related activities for the business including assisting in strategic management, private equity financing, corporate finance, administration, and investor relation activities. Prior to joining BTM Corporation, he served as corporate controller for EC Cubed, Inc., an e-commerce software developer and services company. His responsibilities included accounting, financial planning, treasury and cash management operations. While at EC Cubed, he designed, created and implemented all business planning financial forecasts, budgets, accounting and operational reporting systems to support the company's rapid growth.
Mr. Burke has a B.S. in Accounting from Bentley College and an M.B.A., with high honors from the University of Connecticut. He is a Certified Investor Relations professional.
He is deeply committed to a number of local causes that focus on children and education throughout the community, and often volunteers his time and expertise at the board level to support various related organizations. |
