Ed Garcia-Otero is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office. As a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, Ed concentrates his practice on patent prosecution and opinions, licensing and patent litigation support.
Ed has experience in integrated circuit design and fabrication, expert electric power distribution systems, graphic encryption, optic liquid crystal technology, electronic commerce, medical implants and powered mechanical devices.
Previously, Ed was a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, in the modeling, simulation and emulation of integrated circuits.
Ed has published numerous articles in the areas of instrumentation and nuclear engineering.
Ed received a master of science degree in nuclear engineering and bachelor of science degrees in electrical engineering and chemical engineering. While attending the University of Georgia and University of Missouri, Ed received numerous fellowships including American Nuclear Society Fellow to Japan, Regent�s Fellow, Chancellor�s Fellow, National Science Foundation Fellow.
Ed is admitted to practice in the District of Colombia, Georgia and Virginia and is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
