Eduard Punset Director since November 2000; Member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Punset has written several books and co-authored others about the impact of technology on business growth. At present, he is a professor for several institutions and manages REDES, a television program about the public understanding of science. He is Chairman of Smart Planet (a multimedia science production company) and Board Member of Sol Meli� S.A. From 1969 to 1974 he was a senior member of The International Monetary Fund in Washington and his representative in the Caribbean. He was also the Deputy Director of Economic and Financial Studies for the Banco Hispano Americano and from 1980 to 1981 he was Spain�s Minister for Relations with the European Union. Mr. Punset has an Economics degree from the University of Madrid and received degrees in Monetary Economy at l�Ecole de Hautes Etudes of the Sorbonne and a Master in Science and Economy from the University of London. He is currently Professor of Science, Technology and Society at the Chemical Institute of Ram�n Llull University (Barcelona). |
