Edward H. Meyer, is the Chairman, Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer of Ocean Road Advisors, Inc., an investment management company that directs the investment and related management activities of several leading New York City-based families. Ocean Road Advisors, Inc. manages a portfolio in excess of $750 million invested on behalf of numerous client entities in a broad range of investment strategies, including public and private equities, hedge funds, real estate, and venture capital. The Company also oversees the activities of several large and active philanthropic foundations.Mr. Meyer is the past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Grey Global Group, part of WPP, one of the world's largest communications services groups, from which he retired in 2006. Grey is involved in a large number of marketing communications businesses globally including consumer advertising, media planning and buying, direct marketing, healthcare marketing, public relations/public affairs, sales promotion, graphic design, corporate communications, sponsorship and event marketing, interactive communications, channel marketing and retailer advertising support and product branding. Its clients include some of the largest and most prominent corporations in the world, including Procter & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline, BAT, Diageo, Nokia, Volkswagen, BellSouth, Wyeth, Merck, Novartis and Con Agra. During his 35-year tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Grey, Mr. Meyer built the company from a mid-sized U.S. agency into a leader in global marketing communications with operations in 83 countries. Under his leadership, Grey's revenues soared by a factor of over 40 times, from $29.5 million in 1970 to more than $1.3 billion in 2003. Mr. Meyer has served as a Director of a number of public companies, and is currently on the boards of Harman International Industries and Ethan Allen Interiors Inc and is a trustee of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the New York University Medical Center. Mr. Meyer is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Museum of Natural History and of the Film Society of Lincoln Center. A Cornell graduate with honors in economics, Mr. Meyer began his career at Bloomingdale's. |
