Mr. Chalfie has lectured widely on intellectual property topics. He has spoken before the Chicago Bar Association and the examiners of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as numerous business groups and seminars on intellectual property protection and enforcement.
Professional Profile
Mr. Chalfie has represented foreign and domestic clients in patent and trademark prosecution, litigation, and counseling. He has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the United States as well as before various administrative agencies, including the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has served as trial counsel in infringement and intellectual property insurance coverage actions, as well as opposition and cancellation proceedings. Mr. Chalfie and his partners prevailed in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court trademark case, Qualitex Company v. Jacobson Products Co., Inc., which determined that a product�s color can be registered as a trademark.
