Edward L. Hamburg Ph.D. served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Operations Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of SPSS Inc. from 1992 to 2004. He also served as the software firm�s head of business development from 1986 to 1992 after roles in product management and as a sales engineer. The multinational SPSS Inc. provides predictive analytical technology and services to more than 200 000 customers in business government and higher education with 2004 revenues of approximately $220 million. SPSS was incorporated in 1975 and today employs 1 200 professionals. The company has been publicly traded since 1993. Overall Mr. Hamburg�s responsibilities at SPSS spanned a wide range of administration and other functions including mergers and acquisitions investor relations finance and accounting human resources legal and corporate governance and management information systems. He also has been an independent consultant to various commercial and nonprofit organizations and a research fellow at the National Opinion Research Center of the University of Chicago. Mr. Hamburg received a Ph.D. from the department of political science at the University of Chicago in 1982 and was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1982 to 1986.
