As president and chief executive officer of Palm Inc. Ed's mission is to drive the company's global leadership of the mobile computing market with innovative products such as Treo smartphones. Prior to being named president Ed was a senior vice president and general manager of the company's Wireless Business Unit.
In 2003 Palm and Handspring became one company and one of the strongest pure-play mobile computing companies in the world. Prior to this Ed was president and chief operating officer of Handspring Inc. where he led the development and marketing efforts for handheld computers and smartphones.
Before joining Handspring Ed was vice president of marketing for Palm Inc. and he worked with Jeff Hawkins and Donna Dubinsky to lead the product marketing and marketing communications efforts including the successful positioning launch and marketing of the popular Palm product family.
Earlier in his career Ed was vice president of strategic and product marketing at Radius Corporation. During his eight years there he helped make Radius the brand leader in Macintosh graphics graphic imaging and hardware development. |
