Mr. Weisfelner is the Chair of Brown Rudnick's Bankruptcy and Finance Department and the head of its Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Practice Group. He has extensive experience representing official and unofficial creditors' and equity holders' committees, individual creditors, indenture trustees, equity holders, and other parties in in-court and out-of-court restructurings. Mr. Weisfelner also represents buyers of assets and claims in chapter 11 proceedings and has served as a court appointed mediator and examiner.
Mr. Weisfelner is a frequent lecturer in the areas of bankruptcy and restructuring. He is a three-time recipient of the "Outstanding Restructuring Lawyers" award from Turnarounds & Workouts, most recently in 2006. He has also been recently recognized by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business in the area of bankruptcy law in New York. Additionally, Mr. Weisfelner has been recognized as a leading Bankruptcy & Creditor-Debtor Rights lawyer by New York Magazine and by Woodward/White's The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Weisfelner is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the New York and American Bar Associations, and the Turnaround Management Association.
As part of the firm's Structured Resolution Group, Mr. Weisfelner helps to analyze the issues surrounding the subprime market collapse in an effort to help clients identify and execute on arbitrage and repackaging strategies.

o Representing the Official Equity Committee in the Chapter 11 proceedings for Mirant Corporation, ranked as the 11th largest bankruptcy case in US history.
o Led the team that represented the Ad Hoc Committee of Trade Creditors in the MCI/ WorldCom Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, successfully increasing our client's plan recoveries by nearly 50%.
o Represented the Official Committee of Equity Security Holders in the Comdisco Chapter 11 proceedings pending in the Northern District of Illinois.
o Represented the successful plan sponsor in XO Communications, Inc.'s bankruptcy case in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
o Representing the Ad Hoc Committee of Trade Creditors in the Adelphia Communications Chapter 11 case.
