Eikazu Niwano is the head of innovation and standardization under Smart Card Platform Development Project, Smart Card Service Promotion Projects. Mr. Niwano joined NTT Corporation in 1989 and has been engaged in research and development on distributed system architecture for mobile, agent, smart card and ubiquitous system as chief architect at NTT Laboratories. Since 1999, he has headed developing the concepts and framework of PKI based multi-application smart card management systems and model-based ubiquitous system towards global nomadic world - multi-sectors and multi-communities, as chief architect and project manager. In 2002 he was transfered to Paris as general manager of their Europe Office, Information Sharing Laboratory Group. Based on his experience, he has tried globalization of PKI based smart card management through establishing international projects and joining Japanese, European and international standardization as international producer of smart card business. He is currently the NICSS Fellow and the Chair of Global Platform-NICSS Collaboration Expert Group in NICSS. He is Editor of eEurope/Smart Card Charter/TB7/WG4 (multi-application architecture) and Member of CEN Workshop on eAuthentication, CEN TC224 WG15(European Citizen Card). Mr. Niwano holds Bachelor and Master of Science degree in mathematics from Waseda University, Tokyo Japan. |
