There's not a corner of Chicago that doesn't interest Lis Kilpatrick. As an aspiring journalist, Lis loves discovering, experiencing and writing about all the things the city has to offer, from the new shops and restaurants opening daily to its unique local political climate. She's propelled by a passion both for hard news journalism as well as arts criticism and reviews. Lis graduated from the University of Chicago in 2003, achieving a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature with a focus in Creative Writing. She moved to Lakeview shortly thereafter, and exploring life in Chicago beyond Hyde Park has turned her flirtation with city life into a long-term relationship. She is currently pursuing a masters' degree in journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Her work has been published in the Northwest Indiana Times and Chicago Defender. |
