Elizabeth A. Williams is a partner and focuses her practice in the areas of real estate finance, acquisitions/dispositions, formation of real estate joint ventures, leasing and development.
Elizabeth's experience includes representing national and local lenders in documenting and closing single-site and portfolio transactions. She has also assisted regional landlords and local and national retail and corporate clients with ground lease, lease and sublease negotiations, build-outs, and related issues. In addition, Elizabeth has worked with REITs and other national real estate investors in acquiring and disposing of industrial facilities, office buildings, apartment buildings, strip malls including big-box anchored strips, enclosed regional shopping malls, and mixed use developments.
Elizabeth's recent transactions include: representing a real estate opportunity fund in the acquisition and repositioning of office buildings around the country; assisting a major Chicago-based real estate developer in the refinancing and conversion of an apartment building into office space and condominiums; and the refinancing and vertical subdivision of a downtown Chicago office building.
Elizabeth received her bachelor's degree, with honors, in English Literature from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia in 1992. After working as an editor at a Chicago health care magazine, Elizabeth attended Northwestern University School of Law where she served as a research and teaching assistant for several courses, represented the school in a regional negotiation competition and graduated cum laude in 1996. Elizabeth is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois. |
