Beth Lind is an associate in the Pleasanton office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. She has extensive experience representing private sector unionized employers in the context of labor negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, and in recent years, she has expanded her practice to include the representation of public educational agencies as well. Ms. Lind has represented school districts and county offices of education before various administrative agencies, involving such issues as special education disputes, certificated layoffs, Unfair Labor Practice charges, and allegations of unlawful discrimination. She has advised clients on a wide range of topics, involving both contract interpretation and compliance with state and federal laws. She is also experienced in the drafting and review of various business documents, including personnel policies, charter school petitions, property agreements and employment contracts. Ms. Lind has presented workshops on topics such as special education, the No Child Left Behind Act and avoidance of conflicts of interest in the public sector. She has also provided legal updates for the Northern California Human Resource Association (NCHRA), and has addressed the teacher intern program at San Jose State University on the topic of child abuse reporting requirements. |
