Elizabeth focuses her practice on health and long-term care. She provides guidance to hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, surgery centers, physician groups and insurance companies on health care regulatory matters, including STARK, fraud and abuse, and corporate compliance; antitrust issues; Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement; corporate structuring; and contracts. In addition, she advises organizations on nonprofit issues from incorporation to IRS filings to dissolution, and provides practical advice on board governance, state law requirements and on-going tax issues. Elizabeth is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where she was editor-in-chief of Health Matrix: Journal of Law Medicine. Elizabeth also received the Outstanding Woman Law Graduate Award, SBA Law Leadership Award, Richard A. & Brandon S. Collier Award for Achievement in Law Medicine, and Arthur E. Petersilge Award for Performance in Wills and Trusts. Elizabeth previously served as business unit counsel to the West Business Unit in the law department of Fresenius Medical Care North America, the world�s largest provider of dialysis services and products, in Lexington, Massachusetts. She joined Calfee in 2006. |
