Betsey Nelson is a director of several public and private companies, with over 20 years experience in the technology and digital media markets. She currently serves on the boards of CNET Networks, MarketLive, and SuccessFactors.
Betsey served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Macromedia, the leading web development software company, until its acquisition by Adobe in December 2005. As CFO from 1997 thru 2005, Betsey helped the company grow to over $500 million in annual revenues and increase its market value more than tenfold during that period. She was responsible for leading the company's key operational and administrative functions, including business development, customer care, finance, investor relations, information technology, legal, operations, and real estate. Betsey joined Macromedia in 1996 and served as VP of Corporate Development, completing the acquisition of Flash, before her promotion to CFO.
Betsey began her career in technology at Hewlett-Packard, where she held a variety of positions in international field finance and in corporate development for over eight years. Before that she worked as an international development economist with the firm of Robert Nathan Associates in Washington DC. |
