Ellen Hancock was elected to the EDS Board of Directors on 16 February 2004. She has been president, COO and a director of Acquicor Technology Inc., a blank check company formed for the purpose of acquiring businesses in the technology, multimedia and networking sector, since August 2005. She served as CEO of Exodus Communications, Inc. from 1998 to 2001 and added the title of chairman in 2000. Before Exodus, Hancock served as executive vice president of research and development and chief technology officer for Apple Computer, where she was responsible for the company's research, quality, networking software development and technical strategy.
Hancock served as executive vice president and COO for National Semiconductor in 1995, responsible for the company's technology, applications and product development.
In a 29-year career at IBM, she served in various staff and executive positions. Hancock was appointed an IBM vice president in 1985 and senior vice president in 1992. She was also a member of the IBM Corporate Executive Committee and the IBM Worldwide Management Council.
Hancock is a member of the board of directors for Aetna, Acquicor Technology Inc., Colgate-Palmolive, Marist College and Santa Clara University. |
