Elliot L. Hendler is partner emeritus with Friedman LLP and a member of the firm�s Quality Control department. Elliot has 50 years of experience in public accounting and works with the firm�s partners and professional staff, dealing with a variety of matters involving compliance with accounting and auditing standards. In addition, he is a member of Friedman's professional education planning group. His responsibilities include: Reviewing financial statements and agreed-upon procedures and other reports issued by the firm Reviewing workpapers Researching accounting and auditing questions Planning and presenting continuing professional education programs Monitoring changes in accounting and auditing standards, disseminating information to partners and professional staff, and updating the firm�s policies and procedures Maintaining an extensive library of accounting and auditing publications Monitoring compliance with requirements of the inspection and peer review programs of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and the Center for Audit Quality of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants American Institute of Certified Public Accountants New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Member, Board of Directors of the Manhattan-Bronx Chapter Member, SEC Practice and the Accounting and Auditing Oversight Committees Member, The CPA Journal Editorial Board Former Vice President, Secretary and Member, Executive Committee and Board of Directors Recipient of Outstanding Discussion Leader Award from the Society�s Foundation for Accounting Education Past chairman of the Membership Committee, the Accounting and Review Services Committee and the Annual Study Conference, and past member of many technical and operational committees and task forces Foundation for Accounting Education - Secretary and Member of the Board of Trustees New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants Accountants Club of America - Secretary and Member of the Board of Governors New York Reviewers Group Chairman - 1983 to present Elliot received a B.B.A. degree from The City College of New York in 1957.
