Born in 1952, graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from ITA Instituto Tecnol�gico de Aeron�utica (Aeronautical Institute of Technology), in 1977. He started his carreer in 1978 as Systems Engineer at Embraer, dedicated to environmental and later to flight controls systems.
Matsuo also spent three years in Italy working with the AMX military program and its fly-by-wire electronic control.
Throughout the �80s and �90s Matsuo received leadership assignments for Embraer�s significant new projects.
In the late �90s, he became Director of Embraer Program, with responsibilities for the ERJ 145 Regional Jet Program. In 2002 was assigned Development Engineering Director, Matsuo also has played a determinant role in the development and certification of the EMBRAER 170/190 Family of E-Jets as Chief Engineer.
In January 2007, he was assigned to his current position, as Senior Vice-President, Engineering, responsible for Development and Product Support Engineering, Ground and Flight Tests as well as Product Integrity and Certification.
