Emily leads the global finance function at Optaros and is responsible for all financial operations, focusing on financial reporting and planning. Emily has over fifteen years of finance and accounting experience across a variety of complex organizations, including public, private and non-profit sectors. Previously, Emily operated her own accounting and business advisory consulting practice dedicated to serving international companies. In this capacity, Emily filled various interim financial roles and was responsible for managing corporate finance initiatives, such as Sarbanes Oxley compliance and post acquisition integration services.Prior to running her own consulting business, Emily spent three years at Viant Corporation as Corporate Controller. At Viant she was responsible for the overall accounting function, including external financial reporting and developing and maintaining a comprehensive system of internal controls. Emily also established and supported Viant's international financial operation. Emily began her career as a Senior Auditor for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a national accounting, tax and consulting firm. She then went on to serve as Controller for Judge Baker Children's Center, a research and social services organization affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital. Ms. DeMelo has a BS in Accounting from Merrimack College. |
