Emily Turner returned to Spaeth Communications as the firms southeast managing director. After years of serving in both public and private industries, Emily gained a wealth of experience in the areas of public relations, marketing, and communications consulting. Her true passion lies in teaching others the importance of strategic communication, and that mission led her back to the Spaeth firm. Emily first arrived at Spaeth Communications five years ago with a background in state government and public information as Floridas statewide coordinator for Operation Lifesaver, a national program to increase public awareness for safety on railway tracks. Under her leadership and with her as the programs spokeswoman, Florida developed an enviable record of train safety by reducing deaths, and created a model public-private partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation. As an associate at Spaeth, she handled a wide range of projects, and quickly gained the confidence of a wide range of clients. She organized media campaigns, designed both client and internal collateral materials, spoke to client and professional groups, and helped with marketing the Spaeth firm. Emily became an expert in the highly specialized written materials such as biographies, opinion pieces and speeches for many of Spaeths major clients. She worked on specialized issues such as telecommunications deregulation and on quick-response projects in areas like healthcare. She undertook a communication audit for a publishing company using the firms Influence Model to produce virtually real-time feedback for the top executives. Emily was lured to a corporate career in New York City where she worked for Deloitte & Touche. She was chosen to help launch a completely new, live Webcast series titled Dbriefs. Emily served as the content coordinator and was in charge of everything from the quarterly production schedule to producing the series program guide. She tapped into her presentations skills training background and assisted each speaker in preparing for their live Webcasts. The combination of the interactive format and live programming was a success, and now Dbriefs is a centerpiece of the firms marketing efforts for the tax practice. After getting Dbriefs off the ground, Emily returned to her home state of Florida. As Spaeths managing director, shes again counseling clients on how to avoid or manage crises, training spokesmen with Spaeths copyrighted techniques, working on innovative integrated communications plans and a broad range of other initiatives. A skilled writer, Emily is also in demand as a motivation speaker who has a real message which is immediately useful to listeners. As a Spaeth speaker and instructor, Emily draws from the largest collection of real video and audio examples in the country. Emily has a degree in media studies from Florida State Universitys College of Communication. She and her husband David, an actor and professor, live in Tallahassee and are elated in their new role as parents. |
