Dr. Cagliero is a clinical research physician at the Diabetes Center of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Enrico is currently engaged in five main areas of research: islet transplantation, prevention and therapy of Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular complication of diabetes, diabetes and schizophrenic disorders, and improvements of care for Type 2 diabetic patients. He is also interested in novel therapies for diabetes and specifically on islet transplantation, being in charge of the clinical trial unit of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Center for Islet Transplantation at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Cagliero completed his medical degree at the University of Torino, Italy and his internship and residency training at the University of California, San Diego. |
