As corporate vice president of the Microsoft TV Division, Enrique Rodriguez leads the teams responsible for the development, marketing, sale and deployment of Microsoft�s software and service solutions for the digital television industry worldwide.
Rodriguez heads the Microsoft TV Division, guiding the group toward its goal of helping service providers deliver exciting, new TV-based digital entertainment services and derive more value from their video and network infrastructure investments. As corporate vice president, he is also responsible for charting the division�s growth and integration with Microsoft�s global consumer initiatives.
Microsoft TV is a family of software solutions for entertainment service providers and supports a full range of capabilities, including interactive program guide, digital video recording, high-definition TV, on-demand programming and Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) services. With solutions for both broadband and cable delivery of TV services, Microsoft TV solutions are designed to work across a full range of TV devices such as set-top boxes.
Before heading Microsoft TV, Rodriguez served as vice president of Xbox Partnerships, where he was a key contributor to the launch of Xbox and Xbox 360 products and services. In this role, he led the team defining the expansion of the Xbox 360 platform to non-gaming entertainment applications.
Rodriguez brings extensive experience working with service providers to deliver innovative products and services to market. Prior to joining Microsoft in 2003, Rodriguez spent over 20 years at Thomson/RCA, where he served in a variety of engineering and executive roles. Most recently, he was executive vice president, broadband access products, responsible for Thomson�s worldwide digital set-top box, DSL and cable modem activities focused on telecommunications, cable and satellite network operators. Before that, as senior vice president of Thomson�s multimedia products business unit, Rodriguez led the development and commercialization of digital set-top boxes, as well as professional products and services dedicated to TV content owners and digital network operators.
Rodriguez holds more than 25 U.S. patents and numerous international derivatives. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Instituto Tecnol�gico de Monterrey (Mexico) in 1982. |
