Pro Career:
Selected with the Cardinals first pick in the third round (75th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft; saw action in 12 games at cornerback making five starts as a rookie. Appeared in 15 games (eight starts) and led the team in passes defensed (13) in 2006.
2006: Continued to develop in his sophomore campaign, playing all but one contest which he missed due to injury played the majority of the game and had four tackles in the season opener vs. SF (9/10) recorded his sixth career start @ Sea (9/17) with three tackles before leaving the game with a right groin injury inactive (groin) vs. StL (9/24) returned following injury to start at right cornerback @ Atl (10/1), collecting two tackles tied for game high with nine solo tackles and also forced and recovered a Larry Johnson fumble late in the second quarter which led to a field goal vs. KC (10/8) turned in a strong performance in his first career Monday Night game, collecting three tackles with a career high four passes defensed vs. Chi (10/16) had four tackles and, for the second straight week, four passes defensed @ Oak (10/22) collected seven tackles and one tackle on special teams when he smothered a fake field goal attempt by tackling holder Jon Ryan before he could get a pass off @ GB (10/29) recorded three tackles and one pass defensed vs. Dal (11/12) posted three tackles vs. Det (11/19) collected one special teams tackle @ Min (11/26); @ StL (12/3) had two passes defensed @ SF (12/24) tallied six tackles and one pass defensed @ SD (12/31).
2005: Made five starts as a rookie while seeing action in 12 games saw first extended playing time on defense as both David Macklin and Raymond Walls went down with injuries vs. SF in Mexico City (10/2); recorded five tackles, one pass break up, one fumble recovery and a forced fumble forced a Brandon Lloyd fumble that set up Larry Fitzgerald�s 17-yard TD reception recorded his first career start vs. Car (10/9) and recorded one tackle; left the game due to a right shoulder injury inactive vs. Ten (10/23) recorded a game and career-high 14 solo tackles in the Cardinals win @ StL (11/20) recorded his first career interception @ SF (12/4) and added seven tackles deactivated vs. Was (12/11) and @ Hou (12/18) due to a groin injury recorded one tackle and one pass defensed vs. Phi (12/24) recorded three tackles and a pass defensed @ Ind (1/1) while starting at left cornerback in place of the injured Antrel Rolle.
College:
In 47 games with the Hokies registered 143 tackles (91 solos) with 5.5 stops for losses of 39 yards, three forced fumbles, four blocked kicks and 25 pass deflections also had eight interceptions for 264 return yards with two TDs started every game at cornerback as a senior and won the President�s Award for leadership started seven games at cornerback as a junior ... recorded a career-high 58 tackles (41 solos) with two stops behind the line of scrimmage, three interceptions, with two for TDs and also deflected six passes while blocking the fourth kick of his career sat out as a medical redshirt in 2002 ... blocked a punt that was eventually recovered for a safety vs. Rutgers as a sophomore blocked a punt that Tech returned for a TD vs. Miami.

Full name Eric Denaud Green attended Clewiston (FL) High School, a rival of WR Anquan Boldin�s Pahokee High School competed as a quarterback, receiver and defensive back team MVP in 1999 named to the Palm Beach Post All-Area team, and earned All-State honors as a senior posted five interceptions on defense, passed for 1,100 yards with 12 TDs and rushed for over 400 yards and six scores his senior season gained over 2,200 career passing yards during his last two seasons also lettered in track and basketball, placing fifth in the state in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 14.3 seconds graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Retail Property. |
