Eric E. Sigsbey joined Brigham in April 2007 as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. After a series of mergers and acquisitions led Mr. Sigsbey on a three-year journey of high level land and legal positions with Westport Resources, Kerr-McGee, Anadarko and Lewis Energy. Mr. Sigsbey returned to Austin, Texas where he had previously served for four years as General Counsel, Vice President of Land and Assistant Corporate Secretary for United Resources, LP. Prior to United, Mr. Sigsbey served a short term as General Counsel and Sr. Deputy Commissioner for the Texas General Land Office. Prior to joining the General Land Office in October 1999, Mr. Sigsbey had been part of the in-house legal staff of Atlantic Richfield Company for eight years, where he served as Chief Counsel for ARCO Permian in Midland, Texas for the last four and one-half years.
After obtaining his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1988, Mr. Sigsbey practiced with two major Houston law firms before joining ARCO. Prior to law school, he spent approximately seven years doing oil & gas, title examination and real estate work and approximately seven years in the petrochemical operations and safety fields. Mr. Sigsbey received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1984. Mr. Sigsbey is licensed to practice in the State of Texas. |
