Eric is a principal in the firm's Santa Rosa office. He provides advice on the full range of legal issues encountered by public agencies, especially cities and districts. He is city attorney for the cities of Cloverdale and Petaluma and former city attorney for the City of Clearlake. Eric specializes in public contract law and the Public Records Act. He is a member of the public law and public contracting practice groups at Meyers Nave. Eric has given numerous presentations on the Public Records Act and public works law to public agency organizations. Eric previously served on the League of California Cities Municipal Law Handbook Update Committee and the League's Legal Advocacy Committee. Before joining Meyers Nave, Eric was a clerk with the San Francisco and Palo Alto city attorneys' offices.Eric received a B.A. in interdisciplinary English from Stanford University and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, with a public law concentration. While at Hastings he took part in the Public Law Research Institute conducting legal research for public entity clients, and received the CALI "Excellence for the Future Award" for receiving top grades in a local government law clinic. Prior to attending law school, Eric served as the assistant director of the Office of Sponsored Projects at Cornell University, where he was responsible for day-to-day administration of agreements providing approximately $200 million annually, and for overseeing negotiation of contracts with state government agencies totaling approximately $70 million annually |
