As vice president international marketing and operations for PlanetOut Inc Eric Wilson oversees the company's international efforts including fully-staffed offices in London and Buenos Aires. He utilizes his 20 years of journalism brand strategy product development and international operations experience in spearheading the company's global expansion.
Eric was the first executive to return to PlanetOut. From 1999 to 2001 he served as the company's executive vice president of business development. Before coming back to PlanetOut in 2005 he founded and managed the branding and design firm Sequence. From 1995 to 1999 Eric was senior vice president of Studio Archetype managing the firm's global offices as well as business development and client services. While there he personally led pioneering efforts with American Express the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics and the IBM e-business identity project.
Eric holds a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies from Williams College a master's degree in Political Economy from Stanford University and attended the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley. While at Cal Eric moonlighted at Apple managing the multimedia laboratory. He has worked as a construction worker a teacher and a photojournalist. Eric has completed two marathons (NYC and Honolulu) and ran the half-marathon in the 2002 Gay Games in Sydney. He speaks Mandarin and can get by - with some embarrassment for all involved - in Italian and Spanish. |
