Eric Zhang is a Vice President focused on Asia buyout opportunities. He is based in Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Zhang was a Vice President of the M&A Group at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was a Vice President of the Investment Banking Department at China International Capital Corporate Limited (CICC) in Beijing, a leading China investment bank, where he worked for six years.
Mr. Zhang spearheaded a number of China-related M&A, restructuring and IPO transactions, such as: Dongfeng Motors' US$590 million H-share IPO and listing in Hong Kong; Industrial and Commerce Bank of China's restructuring and US$3.78 billion strategic placement to Investors Group; China Pacific Insurance Company's RMB 5.7 billion strategic placement to Investors Group; Suntech Power's acquisition of 100% of total shares of MSK (Japan) Corporation; Alcatel's US$312 million acquisition of a controlling stake in Shanghai Bell; Emerson's US$750 million acquisition of Avansys, a division of Huawei Technology; Unilever's PRC joint ventures restructuring and acquisitions; and China Netcom's US$4.4 billion acquisition of assets from China Netcom Group.
Mr. Zhang received his Master of Arts in economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, China. |
