Erich Bloch, a director at the Washington Advisory Group, advises on corporate R&D management and strategic planning for academically based research enterprises and other not-for-profit organizations. He is also serving as a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and is the Distinguished Fellow at the Council on Competitiveness. As Director of the National Science Foundation from 1984-1990, he oversaw the Foundation's $3B annual budget. Previously, he was Corporate Vice President for Technical Personnel Development at IBM. He received the National Medal of Technology for developments that "revolutionized the computer industry," and is the recipient of the 2002 Vannevar Bush Award. |
