Erika Frank joined the California Chamber in April 2004 as a policy advocate and began serving as the CalChamber's general counsel shortly thereafter.
Before assuming general counsel responsibilities full-time in late 2005, Frank also lobbied the legislative and executive branches on taxation, civil litigation and lawsuit abuse issues. As general counsel, she heads the CalChamber's Legal Affairs Department, which participates in court cases having a broad impact on California's economy and business climate. For example, CalChamber has signed or filed friend-of-the-court briefs on cases affecting workers' compensation reform, the general conduct of business, employee relations, taxation, litigation reform and commercial free speech.
Frank came to the CalChamber with seven years of governmental and legislative experience. She also had three years of legal experience, most recently as an associate at Ryan and Fong in Sacramento. Previously, Frank worked as a legislative director for Assemblyman Tony Strickland and as a legislative aide for Assemblyman Brooks Firestone.
She earned her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. |
