Erin Davis Shedd is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Chicago office. She is a member of the Health Law Department.
Erin has drafted contracts and corporate formation documents for physician groups and other health care entities. She has advised clients on a variety of transactional and federal and state regulatory issues. Her practice also includes drafting and negotiating information technology acquisition and licensing agreements, and she is experienced in HIPAA privacy and security issues.
She also has familiarity with the regulatory and operational issues involved when Catholic organizations own health care facilities.
During law school, Erin worked as a law clerk for the Social and Health Services Division of the Washington Attorney General's Office in Olympia, WA, served as student attorney for the Washington University Civil Justice Clinic, and acted as Executive Notes and Projects Editor for the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy, which published her work entitled, "A World Wide Problem on the World Wide Web: International Responses to Transnational Identity Theft via the Internet."
Erin is a co-author of "Comparing Organizational Structures for Health Care Professionals," which was published in the American Dental Association's Legal Adviser.
She is admitted to practice in Illinois and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys.
