Dr. Euthym Kontaxis serves as the Director of the Emergency Department at the Eisenhower Medical Center and Eisenhower Urgent Care Center in Rancho Mirage, California as well as Eisenhower Urgent Care Center in Indian Wells, California. Dr. Kontaxis previously served as a partner in Emergency Professional Services PC where he served as Director of Resident Education and Co-Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. He also served on the state EMS committee for Arizona during that time. He was Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine while at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, California before moving to Arizona. Dr Kontaxis served as an attending physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA while obtaining his Masters of Divinity from Holy Cross Theological School prior to his current position at Eisenhower Medical Center. He has a special interest in Medical Ethics and Bioethics and is Chairman of the Hospital Ethics Committee. Dr. Kontaxis earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biophysics/Biochemistry from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. He earned his medical degree from the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He completed a Rotating Internship at the University of California in San Diego, California and his Pediatric Residency at the University of California in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Kontaxis is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics. |
